God wants you and me to be saved! How can we know this? The Bible tells us so! In reference to God, the Bible says, "Who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth" (1 Timothy 2:4, NKJV). The Bible then declares that Jesus Christ is the one mediator between God and men, and He gave Himself as a ransom for all of us (1 Timothy 2:5,6). That is great news.
How you can receive Christ right now by faith through prayer
Prayer is just talking with God. He knows your heart, so don’t worry about getting your words just right. Here is a suggested prayer to guide you:
Lord Jesus,
I want to know you personally. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins.
I open the door of my life and receive you as my Savior and Lord.
Thank you for forgiving me of my sins and giving me eternal life.
Take control of my life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be.
Does this prayer express the desire of your heart? If it does, pray this prayer right now, and Christ will come into your life as promised.
What would motivate God to want us to be saved? His great love for us. "But God commended his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8). Have you also heard or read the message of 1 John 4:9? "In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him."
"It's in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ...he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone." Ephesians 1:11
The meaning and history of the name Gerry is from a Germanic name meaning "rule of the spear", from the elements ger meaning "spear" and wald meaning "rule". The Normans brought this name to Britain. Though it died out in England during the Middle Ages, it remained common in Ireland. It was revived in the English-speaking world in 19th century. The name Gerry is an English baby name meaning ruling spear.
Trust GOD from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for GOD’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track.
